Know Your DartConnect Vocabulary
There is no such thing as “standard” darts terminology, and even experienced veterans confuse the words we use to describe a darts competition.
Below is a quick explanation of how DartConnect uses the following important darts vocabulary:
A MATCH is made up of SETS that contain LEGS of one or more GAME types. A leg consists of ROUNDS where each opponent has one TURN of up to 3 Darts.
“Opponents” are defined as the players competing during a given Set or Leg. If the player line up changes for either side, a new set begins. Opponents can be Singles, Doubles, Triples, Quads or Teams (5 or more players per side).

The next time the Post-Season tab is selected in your portal, you may see the following message:
Choose to continue with the same option that is already being used or switch to a different option.
You can also switch options by going to Season Settings and changing your selection in the “Post-Season Management” section:
Division Mapping or Manual Assignment?
Use this option to assign one or more divisions to the SAME Post-Season Group. This is the fastest way to assign divisions to Groups, but ALL eligible teams/players must play together for the entire post-season.
Use this option to allow teams/players from the same division to be assigned to SEPARATE Post-Season Groups; ex: Divisions are split up into separate playoff competitions such as “Cup” (championship) and “Shield” (consolation).
NOTE:
This cannot be changed after PS scheduled matches have been created, or PS match play has begun.
You can change this option during Step 1: Edit PS Groups:
Required "Preparation" Steps
The following steps are REQUIRED for ALL LEAGUES before setting up any of the three options for creating and managing Post Season matches:
AFTER these steps are completed, if you are using the Manual Match Setup option, you can begin your playoffs.
If using the Live Bracket or PS Match Scheduler, there are additional required steps to follow.
How to Conduct Playoffs Without Scheduled Matches
To conduct playoffs WITHOUT scheduled matches:
Playing 2 Matches Per Round
Some leagues require teams to play 2 separate matches for each playoff round to determine who advances. Often, the first match is played at one team’s venue and the second match at the other team’s venue (aka “Home and Home”).
After the first match is completed, the first team to reach the required number of points advances to the next round. A tie can be possible after the second match is completed, requiring an “Overtime” tie-breaker with additional games to determine the winner.
DartConnect enables this format using either the basic match format settings or the Advanced Match Builder (AMB) feature. The AMB provides additional options to make this easier for teams to manage in the app.
Important: Update Your League Settings! Go to Home>League Settings and make sure you have selected “2 Matches Per Team Pairing” in the drop down menu labeled “Default match count for PS Competition”.
When using the Live Bracket or PS Match Scheduler options, this will display 2 separate buttons to appear in the scoring app, one for each match.
For leagues using the Manual Match Setup option, there are no buttons in the app, matches will be created manually.
When one team has earned enough points to win the match, the match must be ended and saved manually in the scoring app.
If a tie-breaker is required, teams can create an additional match to play the tie-breaker format, which will also require the match to be manually ended and saved when finished.
The Advanced Match Builder provides several convenient options, including:
Important: Update Your League Settings! If using the AMB, make sure you have selected“1 Match Per Team Pairing” in the drop down menu labeled “Default match count for PS Competition”. If this setting is not correct, duplicate match buttons will be displayed in the scoring app.
When using the Live Bracket or PS Match Scheduler options, this will display a single button in the scoring app that will remain until the entire round is complete.

Introduction: What Are PS Groups?
Setting up Post Season Groups is the FIRST STEP to preparing your playoffs.
Similar to setting up regular season divisions, create a PS Group for every playoff competition that you require (ex: “A Division Playoffs”, “Premier Cup Championship” or “Division B Shield (Consolation)”. Teams/Players are assigned to PS Groups with the other teams/players they are competing against.
Make Sure You Have Chosen the Correct Assignment Option
IMPORTANT! Before each season, review your PS Group settings:
Pro Tip: If using Division Mapping, make sure all divisions that play together are assigned to the group.
For example, if you have multiple sub-divisions such as (A1, A2, A3, etc.) create an “A Playoffs” PS Group and assign each division to it so that all “A” teams will be available to play each other.
Creating & Editing PS Groups
Create a new PS Group using the red button on left side control panel:
PS Group Settings are nearly identical to regular season Division settings and includes the following 4 sections:
Edit PS Group Settings: Click the Blue Spy Glass next to any group to open the editing page:

Adding Divisions
Game Menu
If using the Advanced Match Builder, games will instead be assigned to individual sets, follow the onscreen instructions.
Pro Tip: Remember to select “Marksman” for cricket scoring to use the “D” and “T” buttons for doubles and trebles.
Match Format
If using the Advanced Match Builder – Click Here
Pro Tip: See the “Know your DartConnect Vocabulary” section for definitions of match format terminology.
Note: Leagues that use “Play All Sets/Legs” during the regular season often switch to a “Best Of” format for the playoffs where a match winner is required instead of playing for league points.

Introduction: What is Team/Player Eligibility?
Most leagues have participation requirements to allow teams/players to participate in the post season:
DartConnect’s “Eligibility” tool helps you quickly identify which teams/players are allowed to play based on your league’s participation requirements.
Using the eligibility tool will:
Using the Eligibility Tool
This step is OPTIONAL, but recommended for multi-division leagues with a large number of teams and players.
Confirmiing Eligible Teams & Players
Check and confirm the teams/players that qualify for Post Season playoffs.
If you used the eligibility tool, those that qualify will be pre-selected as eligible. The optional filter tools help you focus large lists on specific divisions, teams and players but may be overkill for smaller leagues.
Introduction
Playing TWO Matches Per Round
If you are using the Advanced Match Builder, you can create a format that does not require the 2-Match setting. Matches will instead be played as “2 halves” of a single match, including support for an optional tie-breaker set or match. Click Here to learn more (coming soon).
Does your league require teams to play TWO matches for any playoff round?
You can set ANY individual PS Round to play one match or two:
When this setting is used, two separate matches will be listed in the scoring app. After both matches are played, they will be merged together into a single match report:
Reminder: If some PSG’s or rounds require the teams to play more than one match, they can re-select the completed match listing in the scoring app and play the same match format again. They may have to use the Option Menu to end the match early.
Set PS Finish
Note: The league portal has rules in place to control the number of teams for each finish (i.e. only 4 teams can be marked as quarter finalist after that round has been completed).
Adding Venues
In order to use the Live Bracket, ALL participating teams (or players for singles leagues) must be assigned to a venue.
If you did not use the new regular season schedule feature, your teams may be missing venues.
Create your league venue list in just a few minutes using DartConnect’s Global Darts Finder tool:
Important: After you create your venue list, assign teams (or players in singles leagues) to the venue before continuing with post-season set up:
Step 1: Activate A Bracket For Each PS Group
Click the yellow “Create Bracket” button for each PS Group that has a complete team list. The button will then change to green and say “Open Bracket”
Step 2: Creating the Knockout Bracket
NOTE:
A bracket will need to be pre-created in order to recreate it in the bracket program:
Step 3: Add Match Dates & Times
Click on each match in the bracket to add a match date and time.
This information will appear on match schedules, email reminders and inside the scoring app
Step 4: "Go Live" To Start The Post-Season
Matches will not be available in the scoring app until after the “Go Live” button is clicked:
Step 5: Update Results Through the Finals

In-App Match Schedule
After tapping the Gold PS button, a match schedule will appear:
Playing Multiple Matches: Some leagues allow/require a two-match format for some/all divisions. If so, you may see two match listings. Select each match as needed, and DartConnect will merge the two automatically.
Tie Breaker Round: Should your match require a tie breaking round after the match has been completed, simply re-select the match (it will be grey now) and play the tie breaking round according to league rules. DartConnect will automatically merge all the match data. Use the Option Menu to end and save the match.
Create Manual League Match: If for any reason a scheduled match is not listed, it can be created manually. Manual matches can be associated to the scheduled PS match from the match edit page after they are synced to the match log.
Ending & Saving Matches
Ending/Saving a Match Before it is Finished: Some post season formats MAY require teams to end a match before all sets/legs for a given match format are completed. Often this is because a team achieved the required point total before the standard amount of legs/sets are completed.
To end a match early, follow these steps:
